The Yorkshire & Humber Office for Data Analytics (YHODA), based at The University of Sheffield, supports data-driven decision-making through open-access data and analytics. We work with communities, businesses, and policymakers to promote data-based insights and solutions that drive inclusive and sustainable economic growth in the Yorkshire and the Humber region.
As part of the UKRI-funded Yorkshire Policy Innovation Partnership (YPIP), YHODA aims to enhance regional data accessibility and provide data insights to policymakers and communities alike.
Using our upcoming platform, the Yorkshire Engagement Portal (YEP), we offer open-access analytics to policymakers, communities, and researchers alike.
Enhance data accessibility by integrating regional and local economic, social, and environmental datasets.
Empower local decision-making by providing a tailored toolkit for data insights called the Yorkshire Vitality Suite (YVS).
Strengthen regional collaboration by connecting policymakers, communities, and researchers with each other.
At the Yorkshire & Humber Office for Data Analytics (YHODA), we believe that the best decisions are powered by transparent and reliable data. Our aim is to make regional and local data easy to access and use, thus helping communities and decision-makers work together toward sustainable regional growth.
Bringing Data Together
We pull in official statistics from UK government sources and blend them with insights from local data sources - whether that is community groups mapping neighbourhood needs or councils monitoring environmental progress. Although much of this information already exists, it is often scattered across different websites and reports.
Your One-Stop Data Hub - YEP
To achieve our mission, we are building the Yorkshire Engagement Portal (YEP). Think of YEP as your go-to dashboard for all things Yorkshire & Humber. Here you’ll find up-to-date, easy-to-read charts and graphs showing how our local areas are doing economically, socially, and environmentally.
Guided by Real Voices
We know that one size does not fit all. That is why our Advisory Board, made up of representatives from community groups, councils, and social enterprise groups, works hand-in-hand with our Management Board. Together, they help us shape YEP, review our progress, and make sure we stay focused on what really matters to Yorkshire and the Humber.
We are excited to share YEP with you in June 2025 and bring data and people closer together for a stronger, greener, more inclusive region.
In addition to collaborating with members of the Yorkshire Policy Innovation Partnership (YPIP), we also work with a diverse group of partners such as local community representatives, policymakers, and representatives of the combined authorities and councils within Yorkshire and the Humber region.
